Photography is a unique medium because of it’s constraints. When you strip it down to its most basic form photography is light reflecting off of objects in a scene, focused through a piece of glass and burnt onto a light sensitive emulsion or sensor. That is where the constraints of the medium are rooted and what ultimately drew me to photography. The artist must understand that while you can manipulate light to achieve a desired result, it must stay within a certain boundary. In my work I try to push the boundaries of both the medium and my own creativity. Creating visual interpretations my own mind so that others can emotionally relate. I want others to feel what I feel.
